RON HAIN | Elburn Resident and Kane County Sheriff

Ron Hain, Local Influential-Chicago

A CHILDHOOD DREAM

Elburn Resident Becomes Kane County Sheriff and Is Now Up for Re-Election

SUGAR GROVE–Ron has wanted to be a Kane County Sheriff’s Deputy since he was 4 years old. He was inspired after interacting with a few deputies during Elburn Days. He never lost sight of that desire and began working at the Sheriff’s Office in 2003. In 2018 his dream became a reality when he was elected Kane County Sheriff and he is now up for re-election.

Throughout his career, he has always employed out-of-the box tactics to bring resolution to community concerns. “We face so many serious issues when it comes to public safety and I believe I have the answers to solve them,” Hain says.

Although Hain breads confidence now, getting started in law enforcement was grueling. He was inpatient with the lengthy training as he just wanted to get started in the action and pursue his passion first-hand. In hind sight, he values and appreciates the high standards to qualify reputable officers.

One thing he has wished to change is the “institutional inertia” of law enforcement. “We continue to apply the same approach to the same and evolving problems and see no real change or resolution,” Ron says. “Certainly police-community relations continue to be a big obstacle or stressor of our daily job.” Referencing the antagonistic relationships with many parts of the community over generations – “without public trust, we fail at our most basic functions.”

Hain loves solving problems as he creates effective, real change in the community as he continues to serve it proudly.

Sheriff Ron Hain hit the ground running in 2018 after his election and shaped what real reform looks like. The actions taken have made our jail and our community safer.

IN RON'S OWN WORDS.....

BUSINESS SUMMARY

"I'm Ron Hain, a Sergeant with the Kane County Sheriff's Office, where I have worked since 2003 in a variety of roles, including SWAT Team Assistant Team Leader, Narcotic K-9 Handler, Drug Enforcement Investigator, and Police Supervisor. Having a total of 24 years of public safety experience in Chicagoland, along with a homegrown dedication to Kane County, provides me with a strong foundation and passion to be your Sheriff. If you're tired of a rising violent crime rate, a non-stop opioid epidemic, and a rampant re-offending rate; then it is time to vote for an experienced Sheriff's candidate with a real plan to

dramatically enhance our public safety, vote Hain for Kane Sheriff." –Ron Hain
